17 Mar 2021 / News
Bauer Media Outdoor has become a supporter of Ad Net Zero, the UK advertising industry鈥檚 initiative to help UK advertising respond to the climate emergency caused by CO2 emissions, headed by the Advertising Association, ISBA and the IPA.
Bauer Media Outdoor has joined a number of other supporters, including leading media and advertising companies, all of which have committed to helping the UK advertising industry achieve net zero by the end of 2030 through funding, specialist expertise and resourcing.听
As a member of Ad Net Zero's steering group, we will be taking an active role in helping to deliver on the Ad Net Zero action plan that was announced in 2020.
Stephen Woodford, Chief Executive, Advertising Association, said: 鈥First, thanks to all the supporters from across our industry who have come together to make a fast start on this Action Plan. As a collective, our ambition is to set our industry on a clear path to net zero with immediate actions to measure, track and reduce the carbon impact of the way our industry operates. We will also be focusing on how UK advertising鈥檚 creativity can support the rapid shifts in consumer behaviour needed to address the climate emergency that we all face.鈥
Martin Corke, Chief Marketing Officer, Bauer Media Outdoor, said: 鈥At Bauer Media Outdoor, driving sustainability has always been integral to how we operate as a business. From installing LED lighting in advertising panels at scale to introducing recycled materials and living roofs to our bus shelters, we have made some great progress in reducing our environmental impact. Yet, we recognise that we need to do more, we need to act fast, and we need to come together as an industry to make a material difference. We鈥檙e therefore delighted to join this initiative to help accelerate the journey towards a Net Zero target.鈥
